Bienvenue

" New Orleans isn't the deep south, it's the northern Caribbean..." Cyril Nevil

So, for the past several years, I have dreamed of owning a vacation home. I wanted someplace tropical and full of culture, good food, and art. Of course, there are a ton of places in the world like that. I considered Mexico and a couple of places in the Caribbean. But, I eventually realized that New Orleans was my favorite city and I should consider purchasing my second home, or what the bougie people call a "pied de Terre" in Nola. This dream has run through my mind for at least the last fifteen years. Eventually, the stars aligned and I was able to see my way clear to make it happen. The first realtor that I had, Betsy Birdsong did everything that she could to discourage me from purchasing. I think my natural tan was a problem. After not too long,  it became apparent to me that this woman was not going to operate in my best interest and I replaced her. The second realtor that I worked with was stellar and long story short, on December 18, 2020, I closed on my industrial condo loft in the Warehouse and Arts District of New Orleans.

I wanted a way to chronicle this adventure, so I decided to blog it, and voila, "The Little Easy", was born. Of course, The Little Easy is a spin on New Orleans alter ego The Big Easy. In this blog, I will share my journey. That means the history of the building, the furnishing of the condo, and any other thing that crosses my mind. I hope that I can make it interesting.
